Try this exercise:
try to hold swallow and then nod your head up and push chin up as much as possible streching your neck while holding your swallow. Hold that for 5 seconds then release and repeat.
Basically hyoid bone float, it's only attached to muscles, and muscles can be streched and contracted.
When you swallow, muscles that hold hyoid up are contracted
when you nod your head up you strech neck muscles.
when you strech neck while holding swallow you basically strech muscles that pull hyoid down and contract muscles that move it up!
If you do that excersise many times muscles that move hyoid up will shorten and ones that pull it down will lenghten moving your hyoid bone up, same like posture excersises work.
