Sclera-Maxxing: The Complete Evidence-Based Guide to Whitening and Brightening the Whites of Your Eyes

Introduction:
Hello everyone! Org3cel here with a simple yet useful guide regarding the sclera, an underrated factor of our appearance.
If you desire to look better please read!
Have you ever walked down the street and noticed someone’s eyes just standing out dramatically?
You think about it logically their eyelashes weren’t extraordinary, their eyes weren’t unusually bright so what was it?
Most likely, it was their sclera. Sclera brightness is one of the lesser-known aspects of appearance, which is why I’m making this thread. It’s so influential it can make or break a look.

Autism part:

What is sclera?

The sclera is the white, tough outer layer of the eye that provides protection and structural support, as you can see from the picture.

How should our sclera look like as a looksmaxxer?

This is a representative stimulus images of a young adult female. Sclera were either unmodified ( top left ), reddened ( top right ), yellowed ( bottom left ), or whitened ( bottom right ). Digitally colored images ( red , yellow , or white ) were contrasted with unmodified control images. Our goal is to obtain a super white sclera, (bottom right)

Why does this matter and how does it affect our looks?

Sample size, number of female participants (F), mean (M), and standard deviation (SD) for experimental and control images, and the F values for contrasts.

Individuals with red and yellow sclera were rated as significantly less healthy, less attractive, and older than those with untinted, control sclera. Individuals with super-white sclera were rated as significantly younger but not more healthy or attractive than those with untinted control sclera.
Note that a healthy sclera and a super white one have little differences, but a discoloured sclera will lower your rating even further, just like hair, its not a plus, its life itself.

We can conclude that scleral color is a cue of socially significant information about health, attractiveness, and age like said in the study:
Discolored scleras not only affect appearance negatively but also indicate poor health and nutrition. They often lead others to assume you are intoxicated, fatigued, or unwell.
Therefore obtaining a super white sclera will make u look, Younger, and slightly Healthier and More attractive.

Quick funny fact:

Blue is rated as attractive as other iridal colors!

Scientific explanation:

What are the reasons behind the discoloration of the scleras?

1-Usage of drugs or vaping:
It’s widely understood that using things like cannabis or vape products can widen the eye’s blood vessels or dry out the ocular surface, which often results in the eyes taking on a reddish appearance which is unideal.
Example of what u may look like before reading this thread:

If you dont want to look like the man above, avoid puffing dude, trust!

2-Lack of sleep
As you can see in this study, lack of sleep can cause the following:
Dry eyes, red eyes and much more, but I only focused on the ones that can and will affect the scleras appearance.

1763247104875

Therefore its a must you sleep properly.

3-Jaundice
Jaundice happens when the liver can’t properly break down and clear bilirubin, a yellow pigment produced when red blood cells are recycled. If the liver is damaged or overwhelmed, bilirubin builds up in the bloodstream and deposits in the skin and sclera, giving them a yellow tint.
So please make sure ur liver is healthy!

3-Stay properly hydrated
Adequate hydration improves tear film stability, reducing dryness and redness.

4-Excessive screen time
Causes dryness, irritation, and vascular dilation, making the sclera look red or yellowish.
Follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Use artificial tears if eyes feel dry.

5-Nutrient deficiencies
Affect eye moisture, antioxidant defense, and vessel integrity.
Include omega-3, vitamin A, vitamin C in your diet.

Now that we are done explaining the basics, lets get to the real deal, what really works!

Final solution:

Eye drops, quick frauding and a sustainable solution:
Eye drops may seem simple, but they can be dangerous if not used carefully.
For important events and special occasions:
Lumify eye drops

They contain an active ingredient called Brimonidine tartrate

which can whiten your eyes up to 120% more and lasts about 8 hours. However, they may cause increased redness the following night. These eye drops are specifically made for people with red scleras. If lifestyle changes don’t help reduce the redness, these drops can be effective. However, be cautious not to overuse them, as long-term use can be harmful to your eyes.
Therefore, it’s best to reserve them for special occasions.

For daily use and maintaining a healthy sclera, traditional eye drops are preferable for relief.
Any brand of the following will do you right.

Talking from my experience, the latter one is the best. With the main side effect being that they make the eyes watery for a while.

They don’t cause rebound redness and help keep your eyes looking whiter than baseline throughout the day.
